Our Process (Off Site)
Cabinet refinishing is a little different than standard interior painting in the sense that some of the work might be done off site. However, the same technique is used. We will show up, protect and cover all required areas. Once that is done, we will remove the cabinet faces from the cabinets attached to the wall and take them offsite or to an area of your house that is suitable for the next phase. The hardware is removed from the faces, all surfaces are sand down until we have a perfectly smooth canvas to paint on. We will then spray at least one layer of a special primer that will ensure paint adhesion. Then, all surfaces are sanded again and cleaned with “tack cloth” a special sticky fabric that picks up all the little dust remnants. It’s at this time we spray on at least two finish coats of paint specially formulated for cabinets.
Our Process (On Site)
The same technique applies to on site as it does to the cabinet faces, we take off site. The only difference is that the cabinets attached to the wall need to be painted in place. We will go to great lengths to cover the entire area with plastic to protect the room and the interior of the cabinets from any residual paint spray. For an oversized kitchen you can expect about two days of on site work. Once everything is painted, we install your hardware (new or old) and clean up like we were never there.
